Indigenous Glass Holiday Ornament - "Mother and Daughter" by Betty Albert

Celebrate the sacred bond between mothers and daughters with this beautiful glass ornament featuring "Mother and Daughter" by Betty Albert (Wabimeguil), a Cree artist whose work honors Indigenous women, family, and spirituality.

About the Artist:

Betty Albert, also known as Wabimeguil, belongs to the Chapleau Cree First Nation in Northern Ontario. She began her career in 1991 and as a professional artist concentrated her art in representing native women and spirituality. Her artwork has a special connection to the land and culture of the James Bay Cree. Both have served as the backdrop against which she has spent over thirty years evolving and developing her own distinct style of Indigenous artwork.

Cultural Significance: In Indigenous cultures, the relationship between mothers and daughters carries forward teachings, traditions, and cultural knowledge from one generation to the next. This ornament honors that beautiful, sacred connection.
