Betty Albert "Sacred Space" Indigenous Art Mug - 18 oz
Create your own sacred space with this meaningful 18 oz mug featuring "Sacred Space" by Betty Albert (Wabimeguil), a Cree artist from Northern Ontario with over 30 years of artistic tradition celebrating Indigenous spirituality and the deep connection to the land.
About the Artist:
Betty Albert, also known as Wabimeguil, belongs to the Chapleau Cree First Nation in Northern Ontario. She began her career in 1991 and as a professional artist concentrated her art in representing native women and spirituality. Her artwork has a special connection to the land and culture of the James Bay Cree. Both have served as the backdrop against which she has spent over thirty years evolving and developing her own distinct style of Indigenous artwork.
Cultural Significance: Sacred space is essential in Indigenous spirituality - a place where we can connect with the Creator, our ancestors, and the natural world. It can be a physical location in nature, a ceremonial space, or an internal state of peace and connection. "Sacred Space" reminds us of the importance of creating and honoring these spaces in our lives, where we can find balance, healing, and spiritual renewal.
