Micqaela Jones "Spring Already" Indigenous Art Mug - 18 oz
Welcome the changing seasons with this delightful 18 oz mug featuring "Spring Already" by Micqaela Jones, a Western Shoshone artist from Nevada whose work is showcased at prestigious Indigenous art markets across North America including Santa Fe Indian Market and the Eiteljorg Museum.
About the Artist:
Micqaela Jones is a member of the Te-moak Tribe of Western Shoshone in Nevada. She grew up on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation of the Shoshone and Paiute Nations, located 100 miles northeast of Elko, Nevada on the Idaho border. Her youth was filled with rich visual experiences - days spent hunting, fishing, and enjoying the beauty of Nevada's outdoors with her sister and two brothers. It wasn't until later in life, as a young adult, that Micqaela began painting and showing her art at venues including Santa Fe Indian Market, Eiteljorg Museum Indian Art Market, Autry Museum Los Angeles, Cherokee Art Market, and Red Earth Market.
Cultural Significance: Spring represents renewal, rebirth, and the return of life after winter. In Indigenous cultures, the changing seasons are deeply observed and celebrated, marking important times for gathering, planting, and honoring the cycles of nature. "Spring Already" captures that eager anticipation for warmer days and the awakening of the earth.
