Betty Albert "Young Love" Indigenous Art Mug - 18 oz
Celebrate the beauty of young love with this romantic 18 oz mug featuring "Young Love" by Betty Albert (Wabimeguil), a Cree artist from Northern Ontario with over 30 years of artistic tradition celebrating Indigenous spirituality and human connection.
About the Artist:
Betty Albert, also known as Wabimeguil, belongs to the Chapleau Cree First Nation in Northern Ontario. She began her career in 1991 and as a professional artist concentrated her art in representing native women and spirituality. Her artwork has a special connection to the land and culture of the James Bay Cree. Both have served as the backdrop against which she has spent over thirty years evolving and developing her own distinct style of Indigenous artwork.
Cultural Significance: Love is a central teaching in many Indigenous cultures - not just romantic love, but love for family, community, the land, and all of creation. "Young Love" captures the joy, hope, and tenderness of new romance while honoring the sacred nature of human connection.
